The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain and Women for Afghanistan (WFA)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain, in partnership with Women for Afghanistan (WFA), is pleased to announce the upcoming one day summit “HearUs 2025: Coordinating Actions for Accountability in Afghanistan, pathway for creating a road map.” This high-level gathering, building on the outcomes of the Tirana All Women Summit and the Madrid HEARUS Conference 2024, will take place in Madrid on 12 December 2025. HearUs 2025 will advance an “All Tools Approach” to justice and accountability for Afghan women and girls in Afghanistan by creating a road map for through international legal mechanisms. The Summit will bring together high-level delegates, including the minister of foreign affairs, wide range of Afghan women and men human rights activists and advocates, Afghan survivors, and global experts, including prominent women leaders, Special Envoys for Afghanistan Affairs, Feminist Foreign Policy and Gender Equality Ambassadors from partner countries, UN representatives, and leading civil society organizations.

The objective of the Summit is to establish a shared, actionable roadmap for justice, accountability, and the long-term protection of the human rights of Afghan women and girls. This Summit gathering will serve as a platform for coordinated, action-oriented engagement, reaffirming the international community’s commitment to justice, equality, and the empowerment of Afghan women and girls. Both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain and Women for Afghanistan would be honored by the presence and contributions of invited participants at this important Summit.
